Two new forms are up on our resources section. The first is a free Sickness Self Certification form for you to use when staff are off due to illness. The second is a fantastic Temperature Check Sheet for your fridges. This allows you to track you fridge and freezer temperatures twice a day and help you in forming part of your due diligence and in ensuring issues with fridge and freezer temperatures are spotted before it has an effect on the stock inside.

I'm really pleased that so many of you have e-mailed me about the Staff Induction Book. The first collection are rolling off the presses as we speak and after writing this I shall be cracking on with the task of personalising another set for a wine and coffee bar in Birmingham.

More forms will be on the way very soon, including a free training/team building game to help you break the ice at those all important team meetings and training sessions.

The customizable induction booklet gives you an affordable way to create a professional induction booklet that will help our new staff members settle in to there job and provide them with useful information about health and safety, COSHH, fire safety, customer service and much more.

Well its been a busy couple of months for me with BARventure Consultancy proving very popular with you all. Its been fantastic meeting some of the people who have been using the website and helping them improve their business and take the next step forward.

New for April is our Mystery Customer Form on the resources section - this is a great way of checking out what the customer experience is like. We've also written the 'What Ales Thee' article which talks about Cask Beers and how they can be used to make your business stand out from your competitors.

I've got some fantastic ideas for more articles and a couple more forms as well so keep checking back during April and May for new additions.

February has seen the official launch of BARventure Hospitality Consultancy.

Targetted towards small to medium sized businesses our consultancy firm believes in keeping jargon to a minimum and working closely with our clients to review their operation and provide external focus on everything from the customer experience to margin improvement.

Hello and Happy New Year!

A little belated yes - but it has been a busy year for me!

BARventure moved from a casual hobby into a more full time operation with BARventure Consultancy taking up what little spare time I have!

I've been busy modifying and improving the downloadable files and I hope you find the new versions easier to use. With new formats and improved result information I'm confident these forms will help you take your business to the next step.

The Christmas period has seen me heavily involved in several smaller businesses helping them expand and develop into more profitable organisations and I'd love to keep hearing from you all in 2008 and helping where I can - so do drop me a line with your problems/questions or queries.

Well October was another record beating month for BARventure. Both unique and repeat visitors saw yet another increase.

Our forms have been zipping off the website, the most popular download being the PPL & PPS GP Analysis Chart. We had a few glitches with the initial downloading process but we now seem to have all of these fixed.

The past month has been quite quiet for updates whilst I've been settling into my new job, but I'm now busy working on new forms, a few more articles and some brand new BARventure tools to help your businesses. Watch this space!

1 7th October 2007 - Visitors Numbers Up Again

September saw our 5th consecutive monthly increase in unique visitors as well as the higest number of return visitors since BARventure was launched back in May.

The other exciting statistic for September is that we reached 5000 page hits for the first time. October is already looking at beating this so a big thank you to everyone who is supporting me and BARventure.

10th September 2007 - Welcome to the All New BARventure website!

I've been busy modifying the site based on the comments I've had in from you so far and this is the result. I've made it crisper, cleaner and easier to read and it sports our brand new Banner on the top of every page. I very much hope that you like it - do please let me know.

I shall be using this space to keep you up to date with new additions and changes to the website.

Aside from the complete re-working of the website I've also updated all of the forms. They have been created with MS Excel or MS Word (2007) but for ease of use for most of BARventures readers I have uploaded them in 97-03 compatability format.

For any of you using the 2007 packages that would like the forms in that format please fire me an e-mail and I'll send the originals by return.

The new site has been well tested for errors, omissions and blind stupidity but please do let me know if you come across anything I've missed.

One of the most exciting things for me has been the creation of the Brand New BARventure Hospitality Articles Book which is now available from LuLu at £5.95. This book contains many of the articles and pieces of advice that have appeared on the website since the start of the year. This book is a fantastic way to keep a permenant record of the BARventure articles and is also particularly useful as a training aid for younger managers or trainees. It's also a great way of supporting BARventure so that I can keep the website up and running. Please click on the button below to purchase a copy.
